‘Summer’
Sophomore Year Comes to a Close
May. 6, 2011—That’s that. I have completed my second year at Vanderbilt! At 5:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon, I finished my Intro to Biological Sciences (BSCI 110B) final which marked the beginning of summer! This morning I packed up my remaining belongings and left for my hometown of Auburn, Alabama. While on the road I began to mentally compile...
Summer Research
May. 6, 2011—This past January, I accepted an undergraduate research position and was recently offered to work over the summer! I will be back at Vanderbilt in early June working in the department of Biological Sciences (BSCI) in Medical Research Building III (MRB III) until early August.
Storage and Moving Tips
May. 6, 2011—Yesterday, along with fellow Inside ‘Dores Blogger Ryan Higgins and a couple other friends, I spent six long hours storing everything under the sun that one can find in a dorm room. We decided to store at Amerisite which is located on Sixth Avenue in downtown Nashville. The facility is secure, climate controlled and quite...
Move Out
May. 1, 2011—Today, I am moving out of Stambaugh House. I never thought this day would come. Moving out of the Commons is bittersweet. How has an entire year already come and gone? Summer in the Nashville City
Aug. 19, 2010—I spent about half my summer in Nashville – and it may have been one of the best decisions ever. Right after finals I went home for my younger brother’s high school graduation and then did some summer traveling. By the end of June, I repacked my things and headed back down south.
Three things I learned in Europe…
Aug. 13, 2010—1. I learned that we should “work to live” instead of “live to work.” This is something that the Europeans understood well. Instead of centering this lives on work, they focused on completing the day’s tasks and spending time on other activities such as raising their kids, catching up with friends, going to see a...
A Nashville Summer…
Jul. 21, 2010—At the end of the semester one of the older girls in my sorority who was graduating sent out an e-mail to all of the younger girls, giving us a list of things that we should make sure to do before we graduate. Among the urgings of not sweating the small stuff and making sure...
Summer thoughts…
Jul. 20, 2010—Yep. Here I am, sitting in my room looking for something to do… I do have a job, but working 3-4 days a week still leaves 3-4 days a week that I have to find something to do. Psh that’s easy, some may say… Read more about the struggles of summer below –
