What Now?

Jun. 29, 2013—If I am being honest, my blogging has been quite sporadic this summer. I am usually a regular blogger and I try to set a posting schedule for myself each semester. Thus far this summer, however, I have been traveling, which has left me with inconsistent internet access. Both of my trips were absolutely amazing (thank you parents!), but now I am back stateside for the foreseeable future. There is only one thing left for me do to this summer: apply to medical school.

Health Professions Grad School Fair

Apr. 2, 2013—It is not very often that I get to go shopping. My schedule fills up, and then I can't borrow a car, and then I remember that I spent all of my birthday money already. Today was my lucky day! The Health Professions Advisory Office hosted a grad school fair. There were 17 medical schools there, as well as a ton of dental, master's, physical therapy and other medical related professional schools in attendance.

Next Year…

Dec. 10, 2012—As a Senior (aka an Old Person), I keep getting the same questions many of you probably are: "What are you doing next year?" "Where do you want to be?" "Have you finished applying places?" It's exhausting and never ending. Fortunately, I have an answer for them.

Surrounded by rabidly hungry grad students (it was actually really funny to see them race for the free pizza), I was first treated to an intellectually stimulating presentation on smart microspheres developed to release drugs in a...

The Tree of Choices

Nov. 21, 2011—To my high school-aged readers: Think about college right now. Did it induce a little bit of decision-based panic? If so, I totally understand, and have some bad news for you: It will get worse.

Vanderbilt 2017

Mar. 25, 2011—This Wednesday I formally accepted the Vanderbilt Law and Economics PhD/JD Program offer.  This program is 6 years, so I’ll be a Vanderbilt 2017 graduate!  I think it’s appropriate now to post some snippets from my personal statement (for law) and economics (statements of purpose).  (You may not recall but I applied to law schools...

Applications, Applications, Applications

Dec. 3, 2010—For the past two weeks, I’ve been doing applications for law schools and economics schools.  My dream is to be able to do both and end up as a professor, whose specialty is economics and law; with these degrees, I’d also be a very powerful public policy consultant.  I just finished my batch of law...
