How to Get Exercise Without Setting Foot in the Gym

Oct. 28, 2014—Don’t get me wrong: the Student Rec Center here at Vanderbilt is great. With the swipe of your Commodore Card, you get free access to an indoor track, a basketball court, more treadmills and weight machines than I can count, and even a couple of rooms for racquetball that I’m dying to try out. And...

Public Art and The Kefi Project

Oct. 19, 2014—It’s time to introduce one of the standout student orgs on campus: The Kefi Project. If you’re not familiar with Kefi, we’re to blame for poetry in unexpected places, water-bottle chandeliers, and so many parasols. The Greek word kefi (κέφι) conveys a spirit of joy, passion, enthusiasm and high-spirited living. I got involved in the...

2 Years Later

Sep. 30, 2014—I remember what it was like to be a freshman. I got to eat at the Commons Center every single day if I wanted to for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I could still do this if I wanted to, but the walk is a lot farther from College Halls this year. (Side fact: my favorite meal at...

There have even been moments during this final semester when I would walk through campus and be oddly reminded of...

Guest Blog: Graduating as a Transfer Student

May. 8, 2014—With the countdown to graduation down to only a handful of hours, the reality that two years at Vanderbilt have passed is astounding. As a junior transfer student, I have only been able to call Nashville home for four semesters, yet what has transpired within that time is nothing short of remarkable.

So Long, Farewell!

May. 6, 2014—Within a two week span, I was "sent off" by three organizations very near and dear to my heart: BCM, Cru, and Masala SACE. It so odd to know that it's actually my turn to be sent-off, but it was so encouraging and humbling to be recognized by these three amazing organizations!

Soccer Senior Send-off

May. 6, 2014—As the year wound (winds? I refused to admit it's over.) down, most of the organizations I'm involved in on campus held various activities in order to "send off" the seniors. Now, part of me refused to acknowledge that this included ME (wow, gee wiz, golly wolly, etc.), but that went out the window the second I got the invite for the senior send-off for the club soccer team.
