So Fall Happened
Coming from a tiny little town in Kentucky, I was really missing that “farm in the fall” feeling that always has me wandering around pumpkin patches and riding around on hay bales this time of year.
As always, Vanderbilt found a way to solve my homesickness without me even asking. The Residential Education organization hosts an Alternative Saturday program for Alumni Lawn residents, which offers students super fun Saturday activities outside the Vandy Bubble for FREEEEEEEEEE.
So when the opportunity to visit Gentry Farms, a working farm in Franklin, came around, I was the first one on the bus Saturday morning!
Gentry Farms had a petting zoo (sheep!), two corn mazes (which I completed in record time, of course), a hay ride (minus the hay, which is great because, I mean, allergies), apple cider (mmm), and pumpkin patches (!!!). And I got in free!
