I read somewhere that the ED 1 acceptance rate was 22% and ED II was only 11%. Why is there such a big difference? Are ED II applications looked at differently than ED I?
February 11th, 2013
We’ve published only one admit rate (21.18%), and itโs for both ED pools combined. EDII files are given the same thorough review as EDI files.

I don’t think that you are going to get anything more out of Official Vandy than Ryan’s carefully worded response below. I also think you mispoke when you suggest thatthe rate for the ED1 pool was 22% since that would not work out to a 21.18 overall rate. I believe the numbers to which you are referring stated that
there was a 26.92% rate for ED1 (553 out of 2,054 apps) based on information
published in the New York Times (which publication Vandy did not authorize or
confirm). If that information is correct, that rate is more than double the
EDII rate of just over 11%. As to whether that’s true and, if so, why, we can
only speculate.

Hi, I live outside the US (in Shanghai, China), but did not receive an email about a decision via email on Monday, February 11. What should I do? ๐
February 15th, 2013
Beginning today you may call our office to receive your decision over the phone. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you are unable to call, please let us know and we will determine another way to deliver your decision.

My decision letter was sadly not in the mail yesterday. How can I find out my decision over the phone? Every time I call the office of undergrad admissions I get a voice recording with no options to talk to a real person.

I’m sorry for your trouble! Please contact your admissions counselor and s/he should be able to assist: https://admissions2025.vanderbilt.edu/your-counselor/

Regarding the CV scholarship, is everyone notified when decisions are made or only those who will receive the scholarship?
March 5th, 2013
Hi Melissa, all who applied for the CV scholarship will be notified regardless of the decision.
