Coursera
Oct. 3, 2012—Vanderbilt recently announced that it is partnering with Coursera to offer free online courses. As such, when I was able to attend Daphne Koller’s (co-creator of Coursera) presentation for extra credit, I was super-excited. I thought it would be a somewhat interesting discussion, but I never imagined just how incredible this program really is nor how influential it will be to my future career...
Gulf Shores
Oct. 3, 2012—Fall break is just around the corner–literally, it’s tomorrow–and I’m getting really excited to head down to Gulf Shores, AL!
Hoedown Throwdown
Oct. 3, 2012—Last week, my friend Monica asked me, “Hey, do you want to get off campus? Come to Cru Fall Getaway!” Even though I wasn’t a member of Cru, I was excited hop out of the Vandy Bubble for a weekend and had lots of fun with Capture the Flag, a hoedown, and making new friends!

Carnival Night
Oct. 1, 2012—Friday night I went to Carnival Night sponsored by the Vanderbilt Programming Board. This entirely free event was tons of fun, filled with inflatable obstacle courses, snow cones, and arcade games.
Semester Five
Oct. 1, 2012—Now that my fifth semester at Vanderbilt is underway, I feel qualified to tell y'all about my schedule for the semester and how declaring my major has practically changed my life. (cheesy but true.)
Volunteer Research
Oct. 1, 2012—This semester, because I don’t have labs as co-requisites for my classes, I decided to start volunteering in a medical research lab on campus. I decided that I wanted to conduct research in gastroenterology because I have never really had any experience in this field and I thought that it would be fun to try...
