I was admitted ED I and I turned in my matriculation deposit in December but I still haven’t received a Road to Vanderbilt packet yet. When should I expect to receive it?

Amber: The Road to Vanderbilt packets are not yet printed, so no worries. They will start to mail near the end of April. It will also be posted online!

I was accepted ED round 2 and I was wondering if there are any weekend programs geared towards those students that are for sure attending next year. Thanks!

Is there any chance waitlisted students will be noticed late April?

  • Kylie

    March 29th, 2011

Kay: Highly unlikely. We will wait for May 1st to find out which of our admitted students accepted our offers.

If you are on the waitlist, do you know what finincial aid package you will receive or is this info only provided once you are accepted? Is there any way to find out a head of time how much aid you may receive contingent upon being accepted by Vanderbilt if you had to wait? Knowing this info would help the student decide if they would like to continue to stay active on the waitlist or not.

Talisha: You’ll need to contact the Office of Financial Aid and Undergraduate Scholarships to get an answer to this question. Find the appropriate counselor for you based on your last name and shoot them an email.

I highly recommend Dore for a Day! I did that on my first visit and it moved Vandy from middle to top of my list. So helpful in getting a more candid sense of the school!

hey I got into Vandy with this wonderful scholarship but I am half Indian half Nigerian and I hear there is a lot of racism at Vanderbilt. Could someone give me a really honest opinion? I hate it when people ask me how I can speak English and I got into a school that they did

There is a lot of racism where ever people are afraid they will lose their position of power, because of color or outward appearance.

It is not so bad at Vanderbilt, it is just a microcosm of the greater world. Some bad apples, but alot more good ones. The people who are focused on learning and educating themselves will not be a problem. It’s just the other ones that cause trouble.

    Good luck!

Hi! I am an admitted student, and I can’t wait to get to Nashville in the fall! I was wondering if there was any way for me to pay my matriculation deposit online, or if I was required to mail it in.

@Dhvani: Coming from Mississippi, racism is all around. I just want to give you some comfort in knowing that there are those of us who think it is incredible to have fellow students with different backgrounds! I don’t think you’ll run into much at Vandy simply because of the caliber of people I’ve met there. Don’t reject Vanderbilt because of something you heard. Good luck! 🙂

Hope: There are no online payment options at this time. Just an old-fashioned check. Can’t wait to have you as a ‘Dore!

As an international student, i don’t have a SSN to set up my VUnetID. I sent emails but there is no answer. What should I do?
