This Week’s Funtivities
Sep. 21, 2012—This week, I decided that every day I would take a small study break and enjoy something uniquely offered at Vanderbilt. I'm going to be honest and say that I thought it would be difficult to find fun things to do every day. Is there really a Vanderbilt sponsored activity that I could enjoy every day? There is! And, if I were a betting girl, I'd bet that there would be everyday funtivities for you too!
Rain, Rain, Come Again
Sep. 18, 2012—There it was: the perfect puddle. To jump or not to jump. Also, if you ever need a conversation starter with a Vandy girl, talk about rainboots.
Just another fall weekend
Sep. 17, 2012—This weekend, I stuck around campus and just enjoyed the beautiful weather and this great campus. I finally feel like I am settled in and out of summer-mode. On Friday night, I went to Hillel for Shabbat dinner. Most of my close friends here are not Jewish, so when they all decided to go to...
All these things that I’ve done…
Sep. 12, 2012—I am back in the swing of things, dear readers, and it is crazy! Though today marks the middle of the 3rd full week of school, I feel like I've been here for way longer. I'm slowly but surely getting into a routine, and fondly remembering all the wonderful things about Vanderbilt (and the not so wonderful thing that is homework).
Enriching a Course
Sep. 12, 2012—Today, I was officially approved to enrich a course. Enriching a course is the College of Arts and Science is only available to College Scholars, a title that I was luckily enough to earn with my acceptance to Vanderbilt. We have the unique opportunity to graduate with honors in the College of Arts and Sciences, which is similar to graduating with honors in your major.
Parks and Rec
Sep. 10, 2012—This weekend, I took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather and decided to experience Nashville's parks. Believe it or not, there are so many parks around here. There are not only hiking trails, water falls, and horseback riding, but also outside amphitheaters, playgrounds and museums.
What’s up World?
Sep. 9, 2012—Hello Inside ‘Dores readers! Well this is it, my first of many blog posts for Inside ‘Dores. To get the ball rolling I guess I will just talk about who I am, how I got to Vanderbilt, and what I do here on this awesome campus! My name is Luke Anapolis and I was born...
All Aboard!
Sep. 8, 2012—In my last post, I talked a ridiculous amount about food, mostly because school hadn't yet pinned me to my desk or a seat in the Biomed Library, which I fondly refer to as the Eskimo building. Eskind and Eskimo are similar, okay?
What a Great Weekend
Sep. 3, 2012—I just had such an amazing weekend. There was so much going on, both on and off campus. I tried to partake in as much as possible.
ORC Staff Training
Sep. 3, 2012—Each semester the Outdoor Recreation Center staff go on a training trip to hone our soft and hard skills in the wilderness. This semester, we had the extreme honor of participating the second ever Adventure Race! It tested our ability to orienteer, use gear, and work as a team to hike and then canoe from...
First Football Game
Sep. 1, 2012—Last night, the Commodores kicked off their 2012 football season. Actually, they kicked off the entire SEC season, welcoming the University of South Carolina Gamecocks to the brand new stadium.
