‘College Life’
What Now?
Jun. 29, 2013—If I am being honest, my blogging has been quite sporadic this summer. I am usually a regular blogger and I try to set a posting schedule for myself each semester. Thus far this summer, however, I have been traveling, which has left me with inconsistent internet access. Both of my trips were absolutely amazing (thank you parents!), but now I am back stateside for the foreseeable future. There is only one thing left for me do to this summer: apply to medical school.
Back in the Nash
Jun. 12, 2013—After a relaxing month in Naples, I was ready to get back into the swing of something–and that something happens to be Nashville! This is the first summer I’ve gone back to the city, and I’m so excited to share with you all what I’m doing while here! First off, as Caitlyn mentioned, we’re roomies...
What I Learned
Jun. 11, 2013—I spent the past four weeks in Solola, Guatemala interning with Manna Project International. I worked with six other amazing interns and we were supervised by four long-term program directors. My time in Guatemala definitely ranks high as one of the best months of my life. Despite the lack of running water and clean meat to eat, I made some amazing friends and learned a lot about the world and about myself.
Art Class in Guatemala
Jun. 6, 2013—So, today is actually my last full day in Guatemala. I plan on sharing a full summary of my month with you all when I get home. But now, I want to share an experience I had teaching art class this past Tuesday.
‘t That Cold
May. 2, 2013—Just when you thought Ann had all the scoop on white water rafting, here's another compelling tale of Tennessee weather and chilly adventures from Blair sophomore and fellow Floridian, Hunter Guthrie.
Home at Last
May. 2, 2013—It was a long semester and I am finally home. I am leaving to Guatemala on May 11th, so for the next two weeks, I will be pretty busy.
Guest Blog: A Bittersweet Ending
May. 2, 2013—Wow! It’s incredible to think that I am officially a senior at Vanderbilt! Time has gone by so fast and yet there is still much to be done my last year at college. But first, I have to pack up everything and move out for the third year in a row. What fun.
Guest Blog: I Hear Music in the Wind
May. 1, 2013—“I hear music in the wind” is the opening line of a cliché choir song I sang in middle school. Despite the cheesiness of it, I always thought it was a beautiful idea—I never imagined it would become my reality. Walk down Broadway on any night of the week and you will hear live music...
Remaining Calm.
Apr. 30, 2013—If you haven't figured it out yet, it's finals week here at Vandy, and remaining calm is a test of its own! Thankfully the worst is over--I just have one final left (and it's the only actual sit-down final that I have...so of course it's on the last day!) in Formal Logic. In the meantime, I've been doing lots of fun things as study breaks and to cope with the stresses.
Bittersweet Goodbyes
Apr. 30, 2013—The tents are out, the chairs are lined up, and the moving trucks have an increasingly large presence on campus. Yup, it’s already time for the end of the semester. Some students are done and long gone as they commence their summer plans. I, however, will be here until the end–I have a final waiting...
