Brevard Music Center
Jul. 3, 2013—It’s rather idyllic here at the Brevard Music Center, which is located in a mountainous region of North Carolina. This festival invites musicians from all over the country and the world to engage with each other for seven weeks in making music. This is an overview of the festival!
Weekend Catch-Up
Jul. 3, 2013—Sad to say, Victoria and I are already falling behind on our weekend updates--it's because there's just so much to do! In this post, I'll give you a quick update of our second weekend in Nashville before launching into our third!

What Now?
Jun. 29, 2013—If I am being honest, my blogging has been quite sporadic this summer. I am usually a regular blogger and I try to set a posting schedule for myself each semester. Thus far this summer, however, I have been traveling, which has left me with inconsistent internet access. Both of my trips were absolutely amazing (thank you parents!), but now I am back stateside for the foreseeable future. There is only one thing left for me do to this summer: apply to medical school.
The “Do”s and “Don’t”s of a Professional (Cellist)
Jun. 27, 2013—From the beautiful land of Brevard, I bring you some wisdom. We recently engaged in an All-Cello Studio class, where the four faculty cellists, including David Premo, Alistar McRae, Felix Wang, and Benjamin Karp, sat down and told us stories about the “do”s and “don’t”s of a professional cellist’s life. There
Dores are Everywhere
Jun. 26, 2013—For the past two weeks, my family and I have been traveling Europe. The trip served as a celebration for my sister's graduation and my parents' anniversary. It was also the first time that my parents had been out of the country. We flew into London and spent two days there, and then we went to Paris for a few days. The last week of our trip was spent on a Mediterranean cruise, which stopped in the south of France, Italy and Barcelona. We had a great time, but there is no place like home.
The First PreVU
Jun. 19, 2013—On Monday, I experienced my very first PreVU day! Since I'm new to working in the admissions office during the summer, I had never before experienced the magic that is PreVU.
#WordWednesday
Jun. 19, 2013—As Caitlyn mentioned in her post, we're trying to do something new, fun, and inexpensive in Nashville each weekend. Our first weekend brought us to a free movie at the Belcourt, and on Sunday we ventured downtown to brave the crowds to catch a free CMAFest concert by the river--we saw Lonestar and then wandered around downtown where the streets were shut down and there were tons of free giveaways and fun happenings.
Back in the USA
Jun. 19, 2013—Hello faithful followers, It has surely been a while since my last post, but I have made it back to the United States safe and sound. I left Edinburgh on the 25th of May (sad face), and since then have moved into my summer apartment and started interning in New York City. Leaving Edinburgh, and...
The National Music Festival
Jun. 17, 2013—Two weeks flew by at the National Music Festival. This two-week program is located in quaint little Chestertown, where the locals live in beautiful old houses by the waterfront. Host families and Washington College generously housed the hundred students who all came with full tuition and housing scholarships from all over the United States and abroad.
Concerts, concerts, and more concerts!
Jun. 15, 2013—I don’t know about you, but I absolutely adore concerts! I think there’s something so special about seeing a band you love up-close-and-personal. You can hear their voices without autotune, rock out to their percussion tracks, and just soak up the atmosphere of being pressed up against so many other hardcore fans. This past weekend I had the chance to go to a music festival in Geneva called Caribana. Going there made me realize just how much Nashville has to offer in terms of music, and made me excited for planning this upcoming year of concerts...
