This a very helpful post, the Opportunity Vanderbilt Fund brochure that my parents received was very helpful in convincing my parents that a Vandy education was affordable.
I do have a question however. My parents completed the Vandy net price calculator and we have run the numbers based on the expected family contribution and my parents may need to utilize education loans to finance that amount. Is it possible to use students loans to finance the EFC? If so, are the type of loans we can use Direct student loans or Parent PLUS loans?

Thanks for your question, Jason! Yes, you can use both Direct student loans and Parent Plus loans to finance the EFC. For additional info on borrowing limits, check out this page from the Office of Student Financial Aid’s website: https://www.vanderbilt.edu/financialaid/loans-payment/federal-loans-undergraduate.php
